Cairnshill Primary School After School Club will be recommencing Monday 14th May 2018.

This session is for Cairnshill PS pupils only. This is organised for P5, P6&7 pupils, but is run by Belfast Kayak Academy, not by the School.

Sessions will be based at Knockbracken Reservoir, Carryduff.

Location

Knockbracken Reservoir and Canoe Polo pitches, Mealough Road, Carryduff. (Clubhouse with changing & toilet facilities)

The students will be collected from school in our minibus and brought to the centre where the kayaking will take place and then they should be collected from here afterwards.

Time

Every Monday after school:

3pm pick up from school. 5pm collection from Knockbracken Reservoir. Please access via Mealough Road, by entering through green gates on right hand side of road and follow parking sign. Please follow the path down to the clubhouse and wait there.

Dates

May: 14th, 21st

June: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th


Please note that each after school club term membership allows you to also come to one of our weekly club beginner kayak sessions. If you have paid for the after school club term then this session is complimentary.

Monday's 7pm - 8pm (Girls only session) (Venue: Ormiston Pool, Pirrie Lane)
Tuesday's 7pm - 8pm (Venue: Knockbracken Reservoir)
Thursday's 7pm - 8pm (Venue: Knockbracken Reservoir)
Friday's 7pm - 8pm (Venue: Ormiston Pool, Pirrie Lane)
Saturday's 12midday - 1pm (Venue: Knockbracken Reservoir)
Sunday's 12midday - 2pm (Venue: Knockbracken Reservoir)

 

Activities included

(based on the skill level of the group):

  • Flat water Kayaking
  • Canoe Polo
  • Stand Up Paddleboarding
  • Playboating
  • Land and water games.

 

Clothing

If you have a wetsuit and wet shoes, please bring, otherwise bring warm old clothes and trainers you do not mind getting wet (no denim or cotton) along with a towel and change of clothes for after.

We will supply all appropriate water safety equipment including buoyancy aids, helmets, boat and paddle.

Belfast Kayak Academy is an affiliated CANI club and all our Coaches are fully insured and qualified.
